SJ Pilgrim

I am a mathematics PhD and new author trying to get my first book published! I enjoy going for runs and cuddling cats.

I’ve published several academic papers, but I always wanted to be a writer growing up and recently decided things are bad enough that I might as well follow my dreams.

I write mostly psychological horror, but also love sci-fi, fantasy, and slipstream. Some of my biggest influences are Steven King and Charlie Jane Anders. Some favorite recent reads of mine are We Used to Live Here and All the Birds in the Sky.

My goal is to be published in as many mediums as possible, and hopefully make writing my career one day. I recently had a poem published in volume 5 of Trans Tongues, a mini-journal put out by t’ART Press. I’m submitting short fiction pieces now, and about to start querying for my psychological horror novel (stay tuned for details!).
