Forty Meters is a story about cave diving. This was a collaborative project, written by me and narrated by Will Soto, host of the Red Treehouse and Midnight Horror Stories podcasts.

This short prose poem was the first piece of non-academic writing that I had accepted for publication. It appeared in 2026 in volume 5 of Trans Tongues, a mini-journal published by t’ART Press.

This story centers on Ryloth during the Old Republic and the lead-up to the Great Sith War. The story follows a young Twi’lek, A’i Selestus, shortly after Ryloth is inducted into the Galactic Republic. Even under the new government, her family is struggling to survive, and the remnants of slavery and other exploitations still plague her planet. A newfound power might let her protect Ryloth and its people, but who exactly is her new Master, and how far will she go to get the justice she seeks? What would you do for love…or for hate?
